Like many others we try to make time to see extended family over the christmas period. Christmas Day we spent at home with my daughter, son in law and grandchildren, for Don and I this was a great day, seeing the little ones faces when they opened their gifts ( big ones faces too for that matter ) was precious.
I received several new Santas for my collection and gift vouchers that meant I could buy a new macro lens for my camera. I have enjoyed trying that out over the last few days.
The green Santa was a gift from a friend, the beaded baubles were ones I had beaded last year.
My granddaughter is about the only one that loves to have me take photos, although my daughter tolerated the camera too this year, the dog just looks at me now as if to say “you’ve got that camera again mum”.

love the collection.
And good luck with the macro. I do not feel I know mine very well yet but used it for portraiture in candid shots with the families where I spent Christmas day and achieved some lovely ones, so feel more hopeful now.
I had used it for flowers and while I was happy with the results I wanted to get closer. I am sure I could with my old SLR pre digital set up but my memory of how is a bit lost.
